Why Femi Kuti crowned Malaika KWAM 1’s successor
Afrobeat king, Femi Anikulapo-Kuti has praised Fuji music Star, Alhaji Sulaimon Adekunle as
the next King of Fuji Music for the dexterity he displayed during his
closing day performance on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Felabration.
Multiple Grammy Awards nominee, Femi Kuti applauded the Fuji star popularly known as Malaika and crowning him the heir apparent to the Fuji throne currently occupied by King Wasiu Ayinde Anifowoshe‘K1’ Marshal.
‘Malaika
is a good artiste, no doubt about that fact. He has been supporting
Felabration even without money. As an artiste, you should not always
think of money every time. Malaika has been there for us every year.
His performances were brilliant. I believe he will be K1’s successor in Fuji Music,’ Femi Kuti said while performing with Malaika on stage.
Femi Kuti and Malaika performed together for the first time on Saturday and like the eldest son of legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti said, Malaika has always been part of Felabration as a performing act and supporter.
